Volpicelli, Giovanni
Giovanni Volpicelli is Medical Doctor specialist in Emergency Medicine. Born in Catania (Italy) in 1962, he has the academic position of Professor of Emergency Medicine at Magna Graecia University, Catanzaro, Italy. From 1998 to October 2023 he was staff Emergency Physician at the Emergency Department of San Luigi Gonzaga University Hospital, Torino, Italy. From 2016 he is qualified Associate Professor of Internal Medicine.
He was the Chair of the Scientific Committee of the 1st International Consensus Conference on Lung Ultrasound and he is Member of the Scientific Committee of the 2nd International Consensus Conference on Ultrasound in Trauma and Board Member of the 1st International Consensus Conference on Ultrasound in Medical Education. He is Editor-in-Chief of The Ultrasound Journal (Springer), Academic Editor of Medicine (Lippincott), Associate Editor of European Respiratory Journal Educational (European Respiratory Society) and member of the Editorial Board and international Reviewer for many international journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Chest, Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesiology, American Journal of Emergency Medicine. He cooperates as a Scientific Reviewer with MORE (McMaster Online Rating of Evidence) at McMaster University, Health Information Research Unit, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He has authored and co-authored chapters of international books in emergency medicine and emergency ultrasound, and 140 indexed publications in peer-reviewed international journals with more than 11900 citations: volpicelli/scholar.google.citations.
